Over its development, from a municipal company of Rome City Council to a listed company, becoming the holding company of an important Italian Industrial Group, Acea has had no desire to change its identity as a company which is rooted in the local area, attentive to the needs of the community and to protecting the natural environment.

In its strategies, Acea takes account of three dimensions which make its business activity sustainable:

• economic responsibility (generating profit);
• corporate responsibility (guaranteeing quality services, growth opportunities and respect for human rights);
• environmental responsibility (protecting natural resources and governing impacts on them).

Acea monitors and reports on its policies and results through the realisation and dissemination of the Sustainability Report.
